Lightmodulator is a work in progress from the final year of my architecture diploma. I'm a student in Unit 14; The Interactive Architecture Workshop at The Bartlett, UCL. My work has been concerned with the modulation of light through different screens and materials, which has culminated in the creation of this site.

A useful model for analysing light modulation is to break the system down into the journey that light takes from a source to the observer's eyes. I have built my research around four key areas; a source, a medium, a projection surface or catcher and our eyes and brain as the final destination.

The spectra are created by sunlight through a 60° (equilateral) acrylic prism on fog created by an ultrasonic humidifier.

The latest sunlight modulator installation is almost finished and ready to be tested on the artificial sky. I have added some information on Gordon Pask's Colloquy of Mobiles to the research section as well as some initial research on using light modulation in architecture
